Wynterhall Swim and Tennis Club Policies and Procedures

Membership and Guests
1. Only Wynterhall Swim and Tennis members and their guests will be admitted to the pool area.
2. In an effort to ensure members-only use of the pool, you must present your membership card and sing in at the front gate.
3. Please sign-in daily. On the sign in sheet, indicate the number of guests. One WSTC member must accompany each guest at all times. One guest per member. Exceptions for guest are parent with a child age 5 and under, and for members who have made arrangements for a private party with the social chairs and have notified the pool management company per WSTC guidelines.
4. Guest must be accompanied by a WSTC member host at all times. The guest should sign in on the “Guest” page with the gate guard on duty. The guest fee is $2.00 per guest. A child under the age of 5 and any out of town guest will be admitted without charge.
5. Guests include all individuals other than the following:
Registered members and their children (living at home)and individual caregivers of members such as babysitters and nannies. (All should have their own member card)
6. House guests from out of town (outside the metro Atlanta area) who are staying overnight with a WSTC member are permitted to use the pool facilities when accompanied by a WSTC member.
7. Members are allowed to bring up to twelve (12) individual guests to the pool each month. There is no carryover from month to month. Members are responsible for the conduct of their guest while on pool property.
8. Unaccompanied members under the age of 18 are only allowed to bring in one non-member guest.
9. There are no “free days”
10. When members bring guest to the pool, they should only take one table and 4 chairs. Our members should not have a problem finding a place to sit because guests are taking tables and chairs. If you have more than 4 people in your party, please use a picnic table instead of pulling chairs from another table.
11. Adults have preferential use of pool chairs.
12. Membership may be subject to verification by pool chairman, gate guards, lifeguards on duty, WSTC board member, or any member of WSTC.
13. No one under the age of 10 is allowed to come to the pool without supervision by an adult or babysitter who is at least 14 years old. This includes swim and dive team practices.
14. Tennis players may not leave underage children unsupervised.
15. No bikes, scooters, skateboards, or roller skates are to be used inside the fenced pool area.
16. All personal injuries, however minor, must be reported to the lifeguards.
17. Non-member residents of Wynterhall, Wyntercreek, Dunwoody Knoll, or Shadowlane subdivisions don not qualify for guest status. Anyone living in these homes who are not members may not use any of the WSTC facilities.
18. Failure to follow pool rules may result in suspension of pool privileges.
Food
1. Glass containers of any type can NEVER be carried around the pool deck. All glass must be left outside the pool gates. You will be asked to “park” your cooler outside the pool gate if you have ANY glass in your cooler whatsoever. Beverages from glass containers must be poured into a plastic or other suitable container. Glass bottles can NEVER be deposited in the trash cans within the pool area.
2. No food may be eaten on the deck area immediately surrounding the pool. Eating food should be done at the tables away from the pool, on the grassy area or under the pavilion.
3. All trash must be deposited in trash containers. Pull tabs from soft drink cans must be disposed of in the trash cans.
4. Discreet use of alcohol by adults is permitted.
5. Food and beverages are permitted on the tables around the pool deck perimeter, the pavilion and on the baby pool deck. Parents are responsible for cleaning up after their children. (This may include hosing down an area, if necessary, to prevent the spread of ants and other insects)
Main Pool
1. The lifeguards are on break for 15 minutes each hour from _:45 until the top of the hour. Please respect their break time.
2. Adult swim is for people 18 years or older and non-swimming toddlers ages 3 and under only. No one should be on the steps, side of the pool, or diving boards during adult swim.
3. Swim diapers and plastic pants are MANDATORY for all non potty-trained children entering the main or baby pool. All members must help enforce this rule. Is you see a violation, please report it to the lifeguards. In the event of an accident, the pool MUST close for 24 hours. Signs will be posted stating the date and time the pool will re-open.
4. NO diaper changing or changing of clothes is permitted on the pool deck or chairs. All diapers and clothes must be changed in the restrooms. This is a Dekalb County Health Department rule.
5. Children between the ages of 10 and 14 must be able to swim the length of the pool to be able to come to the pool without supervision.
6. All members and guest between the ages of 10 and 18 must wear a wristband at all times when using the pool. These bands are given daily by the gate guard when the member enters the first time of the day.
7. Walk around the pool. NO RUNNING!
8. Only one person at a time on the diving boards. Only one bounce per dive unless during a dive competition. Diving area MUST be clear before diving.
9. No pets allowed in the pool area.
10. No activities that disturb the safety and enjoyment of others are allowed.
11. Strollers, baby carriages, and playpens are not permitted within 10 feet of the pool.
12. Loitering in street clothes is not permitted within 10 feet of the pool.
13. No smoking is allowed inside the pool gates.
14. Parents are asked to have their children use the bathroom before entering the pool.
15. Only lifejackets, noodles and small floatation devices are allowed in the pool. Goggles and mask are permitted.
16. The main pool or dive area will be closed to WSTC members during swim and dive team practice and swim and dive competitions hosted by WSTC. Signs will be posted to alert members as to pool closings, reason, and when the pool will reopen.
17. Pool dress code allows clean, appropriate swimming attire. No cutoffs, blue jeans, or other type of street clothing are allowed in the pool.
Wading (baby) pool:
1. All main pool rules apply for the wading pool except adult swim. The baby pool can be used at any time by the age appropriate children.
2. The baby pool is closed during swim and dive team practices and meets.
3. Children in the baby pool must be directly supervised by and adult or babysitter at least 14 years of age at ALL times. The baby pool is not supervised by pool personnel and is “Swim at your own risk”.
Parking
1. The use of the parking lot is for members and guests when using the pool or tennis facilities. Please park all bicycles in the bike rack.
2. Please observe the “One Way” directions in the upper parking lot.
Political Campaigning
We are fortunate to live in an area which has a number of members who are civic-minded and running for elected office this year. However.... We want to ensure that the pool remains a place of respite and offers a small area of calm in our member’s lives that allows us to escape. So NO active campaigning at Wynterhall Swim and Tennis.
Private Pool Parties and Pavilion Use
1. Private parties should be scheduled through the Social Chairs. Once the party is approved a form printed from the website and faxed over to Sears.
2. Private parties can be scheduled on Sunday through Thursday. The may not be scheduled on Friday or Saturday due to heavy pool usage or on Memorial Day Weekend, Labor Day Weekend or 4th of July.
3. The charge for the pool party is $25 in addition to the extra cost of lifeguards.
4. Only a member in good standing may request use of the facilities for non-official Club functions.
5. For all functions not officially sponsored by the Club, the pavilion may be used only after normal operating hours of the pool
6. All functions must end by 11:30pm on Friday and Saturday nights and 10:30pm on Sunday through Thursday nights.
7. Lifeguards must be on duty throughout the event. The expense of the lifeguards is to be assumed by the sponsor (or host Club member) of the event.
8. Each request for a non-official Club function must be approved by the Board.
9. The Club member requesting use of the facilities is responsible for the behavior of the participants; clean up of the facilities to their original condition and any expenses the Club would incur as a result of the activity (lifeguards, damages, etc.)
10. All request for non-official social activities will be considered for approval by the Board:
a) Event sponsored by members for members (i.e. farewell parties) or by members with a majority of Club members in attendance (i.e. block parties) for these events, all standard rules and policies stated will apply. There will be no fee changes.
b) Events sponsored by members for outside groups (i.e. church, business clubs) all standard rules and policies will apply. A $50.00 use fee will be charges and a $100.00 refundable damage deposit will be collected. These fees are due upon Board approval of the event and must be received no later than 10 days before the event. The damage deposit will be refunded 15 days after the event.
